Peace and Comfort For a Friend

Hi Ladies! How's your Wednesday late afternoon going? It's such a beautiful day today, I just love the sunshine! I made this card for a friend at church. She has had it very, very, rough for the last 6 months or so. Her young daughter just finished up all her treatments for breast cancer. She just returned from out of town after celebrating the last treatment and came home to some very sad news that her mother only had a few months to live. Well, this past week her mother died. She has really gone through a lot and I wanted to make her up a card. I hope it picks her up even if it's for only a few seconds.

The Bulletin Board is Up!

Well, here it is! I went to church
today and went back to the nursery
and my niece, Angela had put up the
bulletin board! I think she did an
awesome job!!! They are going to
take pics of the kids and I am
going to use a scalloped punch to
punch out their faces and put them
in the center of the flowers. Now it
looks like Spring, just in time for
Easter.

Below are close ups of it. The flower
and bugs were made with the Walk
in My Garden Cartridge. I think I
used the
Plantin Schoolbook cart
for the letters. I will check later.

I had fun making these up. I love
using my
stickles.

I stickles everything here. Even
used some rhinestones for eyes!

More...The 1 set of bees has yellow
stickles, & the other set has black
stickles
, along with all the lady bugs.

I used 7 and 7 1/2 inch size for the flowers.

I cutout 3 different kinds of stems. I
used
the Swiss Dot Embossing
Folder for the top
of the pot. The
top lip of the pot, I used
Bazzill
shiny copper looking paper. (you

can't really tell in the pic...no
sun in my sunroom that day.)

Hope you enjoyed this as much as I
had
making it!
See you later!

Think Spring, Think Spring!

Well, today I took advantage of an empty house. Mike is out and Rach went sled riding. So it is just Bo and I hanging in my craft room. What a nice time we had. I wanted to use my new Copic markers, so I had to find a stamp that I could color. I had this heart one out because of Valentines and decided to use it. I always like shades of purple, lavender, and greens together, throw in a little yellow and this is what I came up with today! Hope you enjoy it!

A Spring Hello

Close up using my Copic Markers!

Bottom of the card

These are the Copic Markers that I used! I love them, they are the best! I only own 46 out of the 334 that they make!!! I have a ways to go to finish my collection of them. I purchased a set of 36 off of Ebay and then I go to Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon and buy 1 or 2 at a time. So, if you ever need an idea of what to ever give me, now you know!!!! teehee

Products used for this card:

Green paper- Stampin Up
Lavender and purple paper unknown
Stamp- Stampin Up
Kaisercraft rhinestones
Spellbinders fancy tags
Ribbon- Stampin up
Punch-Martha Stewart
Stickles-Diamond (glitter on the ribbon)
Copic Sketch Markers

That's all for today, might start another card later tonight. Oh, one last thing, I went over to http://copiccreations.wordpress.com/ and saw this and thought it was cute;

I should print it off and make up a card....

HOW WAS YOUR VALENTINE'S DAY?

Mine was pretty uneventful until we got home from church and lunch. I was busy talking on the phone to a friend and had noticed that Mike had disappeared upstairs for a long time. After I got off the phone, I called up there and asked him what he was doing. I thought he said laying, which I thought resting. I headed up and I saw him rushing out of my craft room "Laying down I said???" and he told me he said "PLAYING!!!..not LAYING!!!" I said "What are you doing in there?" He said "Oh, you just couldn't stay downstairs for a few more minutes." What for I asked while I was walking in the room. And then I saw what he was up to!!!! He was making me a Valentine's Day card. Can you believe it??? Along with the card, he gave me a flowering plant too! This is the most special card that I have ever received. How cool is this??? Isn't he the greatest!!! This is why I love him so much. Thanks Mike your awesome!

He said he didn't get to finish it, that he was looking for a small alphabet set to stamp "Mike" in the middle of the heart. I told him to go ahead and finish it be he said that was OK. So, below is his finished card that he made. I hope it's not his last. It was such a great surprise. Love ya, Mike. Bren

Mikes Man Card!!!
